Treats, Thrills, Tributes

I attended TelBru’s prize presentation ceremony this morning. After getting the call from the company last Wednesday, I assumed that the ceremony was only for the Photo Hunt event’s winners. It turned out that winners from TelBru’s other events for its 3rd year anniversary were invited too. So I was slightly surprised when I saw that there were A LOT more people than I expected.

Coming into the venue and taking a seat by myself was… awkward. It was a good thing that my cousin was there as well.

The ceremony was held at the Orchid Garden Hotel’s 1st floor Chinese restaurant:

BFF-ers. As I learnt, from L-R:
Crow, Artyeo, Ilma Dzul (my cousin), Muris, Ucing Itam and Sabby Wabby

1st place!

I learnt from my cousin that TelBru apparently sent the Photo Hunt winners/participants e-mails that listed out the respective names, but for Gmail accounts, the e-mail received was directed into the spam folder. So I checked and here’s what we got:

Yes, I got one of the TelBru goodie bags. No, there wasn’t any camera-related gift in the goodie bag. *cries*

Stickers, a coaster (I think), a mouse pad, a keychain with a strand of hair in the packet (I’m not kidding), an empty water bottle, bookmarks, a notepad, a pen and a fan.

Any of the top 5 winners (in case you get to read this) interested in switching prizes? Don’t worry, I’ll refill the cute water bottle! *puppy eyes*

Being the noob photographer (with only one lens in hand, and one of the most basic camera models out there) that I am, I think I’m a little proud—well maybe not so little—to have gotten the 14th place (out of a possible 100+?). But then, if more of the experienced, if not pro, BFF-ers had joined the event, I probably wouldn’t have been in the 14th position. Lucky for me, many of the BFF-ers were attending professional photographer Louis Pang’s workshop on the day of the Photo Hunt event.

Oh, and I think I’ll be introducing myself in the Brunei Forever forum, as my cousin has advised me to. Seeing how friendly and nice the BFF-ers I’ve met (though “met” would be an overstatement), it would probably be a good idea.
