I'm supposed to be having my revision session for Economics, but I've been preoccupied with doing my GP homework and wasting my time on the computer, that I'm left with little energy and motivation to do any further school work.
School was fine. We were given this interesting talk by a man from RIPAS by the name of Dr. Ajmal Kulebbai, and boy was his talk interesting. It was generally about mental health. I bet that if he wasn't that good of a speaker, it would've turned out boring and might have made me sleepier than I was during the talk, despite it being interesting.
Maggot and Bahri was teasing me (a bit) during the talk. They were basically saying that I might have a little bit of OCD (can I say that? Or is OCD uncountable?) as I used to worry a lot when it comes to keeping your hands clean or washing my hands (like what the speaker mentioned). I know it's less now, but most of the time I'm still not that fine (yet) with shaking hands with people; I'd always rather giving a fist/knuckle bumps (if that's what you call it) instead of shaking hands, but when I have to, I would, I'd just wash my hands thoroughly afterwards HAHA.
Bahri had his first driving lesson, bukan yang undang-undang, I'm talking about the 'real' driving! I can't wait for mine. I just hope I wouldn't be very ketinggalan from Bahri.
Lastly, concerning the MINDEF scholarship application. It kinda bugs me how because 'everyone' seems to want to apply, it's giving me some kinda pressure to an extent where I'd feel like applying for it myself. But I've finally made up my mind to not apply. If I'm at a loss, then I am. Chances are slim that I'd get it, anyway. Plus, I think I'd always prefer the Dana scholarship (if it's still around), or not getting any scholarship at all. Why? Basically because I'd like to skip uni (or else I'd need to risk more classes and lessons and unnecessary stresses and exams and revisions et cetera HAHA) and venture straight into business. :D I know pulang uni WILL have a free-er and less stressful environment, but hey what's better than not having to go to uni and get rich early through doing something you would enjoy? If I can't get rich early, I'll TRY; at least I'll get some kick out of it.
Finally, I found someone on the same boat as mine. Si Ayub! Pasal ia pun malas kan ke uni and mau buka business tarus. Though he has an advantage as he already has plans for this business of his. But GO AYUB! It's good that you're going for what you really want.
I once spoke to a certain teacher:
"They like to give us the impression that getting scholarships and degrees and being in universities and all that would guarantee our success."
Something like that. This was after I told him/her that I felt like giving up on trying to get 3 A's. And I really meant what I said in the above paragraph. And what my teacher said to me afterwards was, "I understand what you're saying. You know, unlike my brother and sister, I had the opportunity to obtain a degree. But they are more successful than I am now." (something along these lines, if I'm not mistaken).
What I think is that success don't just come in the form of position or money, happiness or the satisfaction (in life) derived is also accounted, and it might be the most significant of all in defining what SUCCESS really means. At least to me, anyway.
So there you have it. If you've got your own path to a good life carved in front of you and the right opportunities there for you to grab, then great, but if you haven't, then it's important to think more than twice about how YOU want your future to be.
But hey, I'm not smart, nor am I wise.
