I Don’t Watch a Lot of Movies

…but three great movies in the course of a week? That’s something!

1. Zoolander

Feeling bored (and lonely, iyea) and rasa kana bk oleh the BCTA guys, and also because it was Amal’s birthday, we watched Zoolander arah the Snow Ice place in Gadong. Of course, we didn’t “come to watch Zoolander”, Amal only wanted to hang out and liat DVD.

Besides me and Amal, the ones who also came to ‘hang out’ were Bahri, Kahar, Zudin, Cheah Wen, Fiqah and Cake.

Anyway, the movie was hilarious and as Bahri pointed out, perhaps watching funny movies with friends makes the movies even funnier!

I can’t offer my own synopsis (as it might require a lot of time and thinking hohoho), but I would recommend the movie! :D

Oh, and I just found out that the funny old man who acted as Derek Zoolander’s music producer in the movie, as well as Ben Stiller’s character’s father in The Heartbreak Kid (and in a lot of other movies too) is Jerry Stiller! Further Google-ing tells me that he’s Ben Stiller’s dad. Baru ku tau, lol.

2. Pictures of Hollis Woods

I caught this on either HBO or Star Movies, I can’t remember (my little sister was the one holding the remote), and enjoyed the movie so much that I ended up looking the movie up in Google. I found out then that the movie was nominated for the Golden Globe and 5 other nominations. No wonder it was so good!

It’s a very heart-warming movie and it has the kind of story that makes you feel really good in the end. Macam, you feel glad that the movie had a happy ending and you’re actually in denial that you nearly cried in one of the most dramatic scenes. HAHA or maybe not.

So yes, I would strongly recommend the movie!

3. Role Models

I watched this with the gang (though not all of them came), and again, si Amal yang bawa. The movie turned out to be really really good, surprisingly. Though there were some parts yang macam dull, and a sort of cliché ending, the VERY nerdy, VERY imaginary “laire” war was especially funny!

This may sound as cliché as ‘this sounds cliché’, but I guess it’s the sort of movie that just makes you want to have fun, and to do it without any care.

So, if you’re looking for a good, worthwhile movie that’s currently showing here, then I’d recommend Role Models as one.
